zia-summit-genTraining, which was a part of the 3rd annual Zia Summit, kicked off Monday in beautiful, cold, but wonderfully sunny, Keystone, Colorado with an Ephesoft bootcamp led by Pat Myers, EVP of Zia. Attendees were educated for two days on basics such as how to configure Ephesoft, all the way to administration, troubleshooting, customization, and a roadmap of what’s in store for Ephesoft and Zia in 2015.

On Wednesday we kicked off the day with our Customer & Partner Advisory Board meeting. After an introduction and welcome from Zia CEO, Mike Mahon, the session began with a presentation from Don Field, CEO of Ephesoft, discussing the customer-focused investments that the company has made, since raising their first round of funding in mid-2014. These investments include significant additions to the support organization, engineering and product documentation—as well as increased sales coverage and the hiring of a new marketing director.

Following Don, the meeting continued with Andrea Lagan, Chief Customer Officer of Alfresco speaking on enhancements to the Alfresco Customer Support and Services organization over the past year and how those changes have resulted in substantial increases in customer satisfaction levels. These enhancements, both in the form of human capital, as well as technology investments, also help to align Alfresco more closely with Zia and other partners in the delivery of customer support.

We also used this time to collaborate with key customers on rolling out a comprehensive “content consultancy.” We asked how we can build a more strategic partnership and, specifically, how we can work with them to quantify and define that relationship.

The Zia Customer/Partner Advisory Board meeting is held annually at our Summit and allows our top customers and strategic partners to engage with each other and Zia executives in a series of interactive sessions and roundtable discussions. The focus for this year was on how we can work together to leverage technology investments—in both products and services—to help organizations grow and innovate their business. Whether through better integration and alignment of content-related business processes across the organization’s departments, or adding new technologies such as mobile capture, we discussed a range of ways that we could partner together to help make 2015 a successful year for everyone!
