Zia’s Work with the City of Denver Wins Two Awards

The Public Technology Institute (PTI) has recently published their 2011-2012 Technology Solution Awards and two awards went to the City and County of Denver as a direct result of Zia’s work with them.

The “Denver 311” mobile application was awarded a “Significant Achievement Award” from PTI. Denver’s 311 service allows citizens to report non-emergency items such as graffiti, barking dogs, or pot holes. Working closely with the Technology Services Group at the City of Denver, Zia made the service mobile, allowing iphones, ipads, and ipod devices to access the Denver’s 311 service easily from anywhere. Zia integrated the city’s Alfresco content management system with their CRM technology to manage the information submitted and automatically create and assign case tickets. The improvements made by Zia on Denver’s 311 service have significantly decreased the number of non-emergency calls to the Denver Police Department, saving money & time while increasing the availability of officers for emergency situations. You can learn more about Zia’s “Denver 311” project here.

The second award was an “Honorable Mention” in the Web and E-Government category for the “Contracting Automation Project” that Zia delivered to the City & County of Denver. What was previously a long and resource intensive processes for storing, requesting, writing and approving contracts, is now an automated workflow. City workers can now find contracts quickly and easily within their Alfresco content management system, and the approval process for contracts is entirely automated with notifications, reminders, and approval workflow. By combining Zia’s Fresh Workflow Product offering with the Alfresco repository, Zia was able to cost-effectively create a unique solution that integrates with the legacy software at the city. Ephesoft and WeWebU Announce Strategic Partnership

Today Ephesoft and WeWebU announced a Global Technology Partnership to jointly bring to market the first solution for Enterprise Content Management (ECM) based entirely on open source software, when used in combination with the Alfresco ECM repository.  The solution is optimized for high-transaction ECM in verticals such as financial services, health care, and the public sector, but the cost-savings provided by this purely open source offering allow virtually any company access to this enterprise-class solution.   In addition, the offering is available on the IBM FileNet ECM platform as well as any other CMIS-compliant repository, and can deployed either on-premise or in a public or private cloud.

Zia’s content anywhere solutions already provide a wide-range of supporting services for this new partnership, which aligns with Zia’s “Paper to Mobile” strategy.  Zia is a Platinum Ephesoft Partner and the only partner certified to perform Ephesoft trainings, and has created unique extensions to the platform with products like the “Insight for Ephesoft” application monitoring add-on for reporting and optimization.

In addition, Zia is a WeWebU Certified Partner and the companies have jointly developed the new MobileWorkDesk product announced last month.  Zia was also the first OpenWorkDesk partner for Alfresco in the Americas region (and Zia is a Platinum Alfresco Partner) and also provides a range of OpenWorkDesk related services for IBM FileNet.

For those who missed it, Zia presented the first webinar of a three part series on End-to-End Solutions for Financial Services late in 2011.  The slide deck is available here, or a recording of the webinar is also available here.  Part 2 is scheduled for April 10th (register now) and will cover WeWebU’s OpenWorkDesk with Alfresco ECM Repository.  Part 3 will then cover MobileWorkDesk for Alfresco and is scheduled for April 19th (register now).

Fresh Project Now with MS Project Integration

Zia is pleased to announce a new version of our Fresh Project product which provides new insight into an organization’s project portfolio.

Added functionality in this new version allows for the creation of task assignments inside Alfresco when importing MS Project files (.MPP files) into the repository.  There is a two-way sync between the MS Project file and Alfresco,  streamlining the project update process and assuring that project status is up to date.

In addition, an Alfresco dashlet has been created that shows a Gantt chart view of project tasks, resources and key dates familiar to MS Project users.  This view will be beneficial not only to project managers and team members but to C level executives as well.

This version of Fresh Project will be available by mid March.  For more information, please visit the Fresh Project web page.
