Zia Consulting helped to “right-size” a client’s enterprise content management solution

The Challenge

The hospitality company had a powerful but underutilized on-premise enterprise content management software subscription. With a costly renewal impending, the client opted to explore solutions that were more appropriate to fit their business’s needs. They enlisted Zia Consulting to seamlessly migrate content to Box, setting them up with a scalable cloud solution.

The Strategy

After a discovery and consultation with Zia Consulting, the client landed on a strategy involving a migration of their 73,000 files and data to Box. A relatively straightforward process, only the latest versions were migrated to the cloud, as specified in the discovery. Furthermore, only content (not metadata) was involved in the migration. 

Zia retained the same one-to-one folder structure. With accurate scope estimation and agreement between the sales and solution engineering teams, the scope of the project remained accurate throughout the project.

Since implementing Box as their ECM platform, the company benefits from an annual 44% cost savings between software licensing and hardware costs. 

The client is now set up with a cloud solution that is at once easily accessible, secure, and scalable. The success of the Box migration opened the possibility of future customizations and integrations of other technologies.
