Zia Consulting is an Alfresco and Ephesoft Platinum Partner and we recently traveled “down under” to Australia to complete an integrated Alfresco and Ephesoft invoice processing solution for BSA Limited, Australia’s pre-eminent domestic satellite and free to air installation company to the broadcast industry.

BSA just rolled out the new solution to 100 users and anticipates reducing invoice processing times by 50% across the entire business.  Now all their invoices are available electronically and they have greater control over the process.

The overall solution is simple. Our consultants worked with BSA to understand their accounts payable process and develop automated workflows.  Ephesoft is set up to manage invoice capture and create searchable PDFs with metadata tags.  To do this, BSA invoices are scanned, emailed or uploaded into the Ephesoft system which preforms OCR extraction of the invoice data. Using the CMIS standard, the data and all metadata tags are exported to an Alfresco repository.  Once in the Alfresco system, a workflow begins by triggering an email  with the document URL to the accounts payable department.  The invoice is then reviewed; commented on; and additional information can be added as appropriate before final approval.

BSA doesn’t want to stop there either.  They are looking to expand their use of both Alfresco and Ephesoft to automate other document-centric business processes.  Check out the full BSA case study for more information.

We receive numerous inquiries about integrating Ephesoft with Alfresco and it’s easy to see why!  Both technologies offer significant productivity and cost savings.  If you are looking at implementing these technologies, please contact us.
